12th Night was alot of fun! Lots of silliness and hilarity. Heres the pictures to prove it!

We are using this same hall for our wedding reception, I was so excited to get in there and really get this event off the ground. Seeing this event really flow, makes me even more excited for May.

One draw back for an SCA event... ALOT of stairs. Becuase I was one of the people in charge of running this event, I know I got quite a few kilometers in going up and down them... and my calves are sore enough to prove it! :)

Snow!

We live on a busy street, so usually by the time I wake up there is the sound of cars going back and forth in front of my house... When it's raining it sounds different because you can hear the water under the tires.

But today there was silence....

Just like a house with a todler in it, silence is bad. it means somthing is going on that shouldn't be , or at least that you don't want to be.

So I jumped out of bed, and tried to look out our basement window and I couldn't see anything... also bad. The reason I couldn't see anything is cause there was a foot and a half of snow blocking our window. :( That means we have alot of driveway shoveling to do.

I woke Drew up, of course against his will, and told him I was gonna need his help. I knew it was going to be heavy packing snow, Other than the kind with rain and Ice in it, one of the worst kind to shovel.

Drew doesn't like to work himself into a sweat over anything unless he is playing or it's a game. So he was making every complaint in the book to get out of this chore, but I know Drew's complaints and was ready for anything he would say or do and I got him out there to help me anyway.

I got out there first and grabbed the *good* snow shovel. Drew of course went into protest over it and decided to not shovel without it and started making a snow man... I thought "Hey, why not? I'm not gonna let him be the only one to have fun!" So I started on the Body of the snow man.

Part way through us rolling our boulders back and forth accross the lawn, Drew sparked an Idea.... He started rolling his very large boulder out into the driveway and starting going up and down the driveway picking up all the Snow as he went. BRILLIANT!!! this was faster than shoveling

Our other neighbours up and down the street who had already been shoveling their snow longer than us started to stop and giggle at this fully grown man "playing" in the snow. I showed our next door neighbours how fast his little game was picking up the snow... They then started also Rolling up their driveway.

Before you knew it, there were about 5 neighbours rolling up their driveways and one neighbour rolled their boulder down the sidewalk to clear everyones path... It was pretty funny.

In all of 15 minutes everyone didn't have a look like they were doing a chore, people were laughing and smiling. Many of our neighbours also have wonderful snowmen in their front yards now too!

I guess the moral of the story is work smarter, not harder. Leave it to Drew to turn a tedious back breaking chore into a game!

The Thaw!

Beware of the Thaw!

Weather network is reporting, for next week, highs of 15 and 16 Celsius ... In the POSITIVE!

We used to get January thaws every year, but our weather has been screwed up lately, we haven't had them for a few years... Looks like this year it's back on track... And I'm dreading it.

I've been SO GOOD for illness this past year. For someone who usually gets sick 3-4 times a year I haven't really been sick at all in '04.

But I remember every year we had a thaw, I'd end up with bronchitis or pneumonia 2 weeks later. Then it would take me 5 or 6 weeks at least to recover from it I think I'm just gonna hide inside .
